Community Development Week 2019 - May 6th - May 10th
Let's celebrate the contributions the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program has made to the La Crosse Community! The week will feature activities and programs that highlight businesses and organizations that have benefited from CDBG funding. A schedule of events can be found below:
RE-SCHEDULED to Thursday May 9th: Family Fun Park Celebration - Poage Park
Join us Thursday, May 9th 4:30pm - 6:30pm at Poage Park! (500 Hood St.) Come celebrate Community Development Week at Poage Park with FREE hot dogs, a bounce house, face painting, carnival games and activities! There will also be additional food for purchase and music by The Three Dads Band! If it's raining, the event will go on- we will move indoors to the Southside Neighborhood Center (games) and the Poage Park Shelter (food).
Thursday May 9: Strong Women Strong Coffee
A free networking event for women who are focused on achieving something fresh for themselves and their business. Brew new ideas for growing your business and learn from the featured guest speaker, Betty Christansen, Publisher and Editor for Coulee Region Women Magazine. Co-Sponsored by the Wisconsin Women Business Initiative - WWBIC.

Thursday May 9: 10th and Cass Historic District Neighborhood Walking Tours**
Tour inside beautiful historic homes and learn about the architectural history of the area. Tours will take place on Thursday, May 9th at both 3:30 PM and 5:00 PM. A $5 donation will be collected to benefit the La Crosse County Historical Society and the Preservation Alliance of La Crosse. The tours will be led by local historians Chuck Lee and Barb Kooiman. Friday May 10th: Open House and Walking Tour of La Crosse Promise-Eligible Homes**
Friday, May 10th, 11:00 AM-2:00 PM. The tour starts at 811 6th Street House. Come tour housing reinvestment projects sponsored by the City and learn about how your family or client can access up to $50,000 in college scholarships by purchasing a La Crosse Promise eligible home. Learn about City Housing Programs, La Crosse Promise, and La Crosse County Grant program, plus enjoy a light lunch. The event is for realtors, bankers, developers, or anyone interested in building a home in the La Crosse Promise neighborhoods, limited space, RSVP required.
