Leaves will be collected in the fall for 5 weeks:
- Starts Oct. 7, 2013
- Ends Last Full week before Thanksgiving
Leaf Collection Information
During this time, weather permitting, leaf vacuum trucks will go past your house at least 4 times. After loose leaf collection ends, watch the news media and the City's website for updates.
We begin on the north side and will work towards the area between La Crosse St/Madison St/Losey Blvd and downtown. We will also work in the County B area while working on the north side.
Leaves must be put loosely on the boulevard, if leaves are covered, in bags or mixed with brush they will not be picked up.
Where can I dispose of leaves?
You can dispose of your leaves at The City of La Crosse's yard waste drop-off site until Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2013.
From March 11, 2013 until Dec. 6, 2013, yard waste can be put out for Harter's Quick Clean Up to be picked up on the same day as your recycling. Be sure to place it in an open can with a green yard waste sticker on it (available for free at the Recycling Dept. or Public Works Dept.) or in a special compostable paper yard waste bag (available at most grocery and hardware stores).
Leaves may also be taken to the La Crosse County Solid Waste Facility. Contact them at (608) 785-9572.
For more information, call the Recycling Office at (608) 789-7508.
