Public Transit Serving: Onalaska - Holmen - West Salem - La Crosse (ADA Certified only)
Public transportation in Onalaska and Holmen is provided by Onalaska/Holmen Public Transit (OHPT). The shared ride taxi service provides transportation to all citizens and meets Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility requirements. Service hours are 6:30AM-7:00PM, seven days a week. Service can be obtained by calling OHPT at (608) 784-0000.
Program Description
The Onalaska/Holmen Public Transit Taxi Program is a demand response door-to-door transportation system. "Public Transit" means that you may travel with more than one passenger with different destinations and/or origins. The program is administered by the Onalaska City Council. The City determines the fares, days, hours of service, and all facets of how the program is operated. The City of Onalaska contracts with a private transit company to provide the service. In addition to fares, funding for the service comes from a combination of federal, state, and local dollars.
Transfers Between Onalaska/Holmen Transit And MTU
Passengers may transfer between MTU to OHPT at Bridgeview Plaza, Valley View Mall, and APAC. Transfers are free, simply ask your driver for a transfer. Note: You must make your own reservations for OHPT at these locations.
