"Building community one neighbor at a time!"

Description
The South Side Neighborhood Center is located across from Hood Park on the south side of La Crosse at the corner of Sixth Street and Hood Street. The Neighborhood Center is a city building managed by the Parks and Recreation Department. A relatively new building, it is used for multiple purposes. The Center serves as a meeting facility, recreational facility, gathering place, and polling place for the community in addition to being an important resource for the Powell, Hood, Hamilton Neighborhood Association. Activities ranging from art to yoga are offered for all ages.

History
The South Side Neighborhood Center started as a plan to revitalize the Powell-Hood-Hamilton Park neighborhood. The process for building the Neighborhood Center began in the fall of 1996.

Ground was broken in June of 2001 and the Neighborhood Center held its grand opening in February 2002.  Read more ยป
