The City of La Crosse recently launched a Floodplain Relief Program in the fall of 2016. Applications for the program are being accepted.
The purpose of the program is to provide property owners with 50% reimbursement funding of up to $20,000 per property to remove improvements from the high risk flood zone and thereby apply for a Letter of Map Revision.
The program recognizes the substantial burden high risk flood insurance and/or the prospect of future inflation of high risk flood insurance is affecting La Crosse’s property owners, neighborhoods and economic trends.
Staff will present the details of the program and will document suggestions from property owners and other interested parties.
