7/11/2018 - AIRPORT OPERATIONS COORDINATOR

The City of La Crosse is recruiting for the position of AIRPORT OPERATIONS COORDINATOR.   This position involves performing a variety of specialized and detailed tasks in support of Airport Operations, Aviation Security, Public Safety, and Emergency Preparedness.  Position responds to aircraft fire emergencies, operates aircraft fire suppression equipment, complies with Transportation Security Regulations Parts 1540 and 1542 and Federal Aviation Regulations Part 139, and completes various logs and reports. 

Applicants must have a High School diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 1 year of Airport Operations experience required; or equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.  Preference will be given for a 4 year college degree in Aviation Management.  Strong customer service skills required.  Ability to complete ARFF certification.  Ability to complete and maintain Non-Federal Weather Observation certification in accordance with FAA requirements. Must possess valid unrestricted driver’s license.  Ability to pass rigorous background security check to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge.  Selected candidate subject to post-offer/pre-employment drug screen.    

This is a full time position with irregular working hours including 24.5 hour shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.  Starting hourly wage for this non-exempt position is $12.23 - $14.00 per hour ($41,926.16 - $48,006.06 annually), depending on qualifications.  All hours paid are considered hours worked for overtime calculations.  The City offers a comprehensive benefit package including medical insurance, voluntary dental and vision plan, Wisconsin Retirement Plan, deferred compensation, Roth IRA, life insurance, income continuation insurance, paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave.  The City of La Crosse supports attaining a representative workforce and workplace equity.  Applications are accepted until position filled.  To be considered submit a completed City of La Crosse employment application to:
