10/3/2018 - AARP Age-Friendly Community Survey

Mayor Tim Kabat and the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) invites residents, 45 years or older, to participate in an Age-Friendly Community Survey.  The survey is available on the City's homepage at  This survey will provide data to inform future decision making and how best we can create a more livable community for aging populations.

A livable community is defined as a community that is safe and secure, provides affordable and appropriate housing and transportation options, and offers supportive community features and services. In a livable age-friendly community, people have access to resources that enhance personal independence, allows residents to age in a comfortable place; and ultimately foster residents' engagement in the community's civic, economic, and social life.

Mayor Kabat stated “this is an opportunity for residents to express their concerns, as well as what they appreciate and value about the City of La Crosse.”  In addition to the survey being available online, a printed copy of the survey is available at the City Planning Department located on the 3rd floor of City Hall.
