Park Description

The Chad Erickson Memorial Park was opened on June 14, 2014. This unique city park was created as a celebration of Chad Erickson and the many incredible ways he embraced life. Chad had a deep love for the outdoors, was an explorer, adventurer, and fisherman extraordinaire. The centerpiece of this park is a pond that Chad discovered and cherished for years. It has been restored by the local Vietnam Veterans organization and is fitted with paths and fishing piers. The redevelopment of the park has been a true community project. Dozens of individuals and organizations have contributed time, talent, and materials to its creation and maintenance. It is a park intended to provide pleasure and discovery for everyone, just as it did for Chad years ago. It is a place for remembering and celebration.
