Shooting Suspect in Custody

This morning La Crosse Police apprehended one person as the suspect in the shooting that occurred in the early morning hours of May 7th at 1020 5th Ave So. 

On May 7th at 12:02 am La Crosse Police were sent to 1020 5th Ave So. for a report of an individual laying in the back-yard bleeding. Arriving officers located a male laying in the back-yard suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local medical facility where the victim is still being treated for the injuries.

During the course of the investigation, La Crosse Police identified Ellis C. Wilson (DOB 07/05/1995) of La Crosse as the suspect in the shooting. This morning, May 12, La Crosse Police executed a search warrant at 1020 5th Ave So during which time Ellis Wilson was taken into custody without incident. Ellis Wilson is being referred on charges of 1st degree intentional attempted homicide.
