La Crosse Fire Department Responds to Fatal Residential Fire

The La Crosse Fire Department responded to a residential fire in the 1700 block of Taylor Street at approximately 3:30 am on Thursday, November 13th, 2025. Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy smoke and fire conditions in the residence. Firefighters addressed the fire and initiated a search of the residence.

While conducting search operations, firefighters located one deceased individual inside the residence.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The La Crosse Fire Department and the La Crosse Police Department are actively investigating this incident.

The La Crosse Fire Department would like to thank our partners who assisted on scene: La Crosse County Emergency Dispatch, Tri-State Ambulance, La Crosse Police Department, and Xcel Energy.
