Rugs for Mugs-Mug and Coffee Shop Logos

Throw rugs are a significant cause falls reported at emergency rooms for people over 65.* Emplify Health by Gundersen and La Crosse Fire Department have teamed up with local coffee shops to help address this hazard. Turn in your rugs at any of the listed coffee shops during the month of March 2025 and receive a free coffee mug filled with the house brew.

Rugs will be repurposed into cat-scratching posts by local high school students alongside firefighters. Partnering with Coulee Region Humane Society, the cat posts will be used as a fundraiser to support their efforts.
