Myrick Park Arboretum

Located in the heart of La Crosse, the Myrick Park Arboretum is a hub for nature lovers, environmental enthusiasts, and families alike. The arboretum features a diverse collection of trees and shrubs, showcasing the region's rich biodiversity. In 1996, with the help of the Hill & Valley Garden Club, a tree walk was established in the park to showcase donated, celebration and memorial trees. Over the years, this collection of trees has grown in both quantity and species, and in May of 2024 was officially accredited as a Level 1 Arboretum.

Visitors to the arboretum can enjoy peacefully walking the nearby trails, amenities within the park, and scenic views of the marshland and bluffs. The arboretum also serves as a living classroom, offering opportunities for environmental education, wildlife observation and effective forestry practices.

The Arboretum serves as an example to demonstrate the ecological, social, and infrastructural benefits of healthy trees, and provide demonstrations on proper maintenance and care of trees. It is a place to host events such as Arbor Day, pruning seminars, planting demonstrations, and provide the public with a place to experience, walk, and relax.
