LA CROSSE, WI — Mayor Shaundel Washington-Spivey joined 3 Amigos Apartments and the La Crosse Area Chamber of Commerce this evening for the official opening of War Eagle Apartments. War Eagle is the newest complex in the city’s new, vibrant, mixed-use waterfront neighborhood, River Point District.

“I’m extremely proud of the work that the City and Redevelopment Authority (RDA) is doing to increase and diversify La Crosse’s housing options,” the Mayor stated. “We have students, professionals, families, and older adults that call this great city home, and we are committed to creating more opportunities for current and future residents.”

Located in the heart of La Crosse, along the Black River on the northwest corner of the District, War Eagle Apartments includes 59 units with 12,000 square feet of commercial space. This pet-friendly complex offers one to three bedroom diverse floor plans with a range of amenities, including direct access to a nearby trail, in-unit washers and dryers, a 24-hour state-of-the-art fitness center equipped with a sauna, a heated parking garage, and a rooftop patio.

“3 Amigos has been an outstanding partner, consistently demonstrating a strong commitment to high-quality development and community collaboration,” said RDA Executive Director Andrea Trane. The construction of War Eagle began in early Spring 2025 and was completed earlier this month. Apartments are now available for rent: https://www.wareagleapts.com/. Tours are also available upon request.

The River Point District officially broke ground and began site preparation in Spring 2021. Since then, it has generated over $70,000,000 in private investment and added over 230 new units to La Crosse’s housing stock. 3 Amigos Apartment’s War Eagle will join a thriving community of two other properties, MSP Real Estate’s Driftless Apartments and Rykey Properties’ Lofts at River Point.

“The progress we’re seeing at River Point is a testament to the City and RDA’s shared vision for a project built on strong public-private partnerships,” remarked Jason Gilman, River Point District Project Manager. “We anticipate several more construction starts in 2026, adding to this great urban neighborhood.”
