Police Arrest Two Suspects Following Isolated Shooting Incident

The La Crosse Police Department has arrested an adult and a juvenile suspect following an isolated shooting incident. No injuries were reported.
On August 9, 2026, at approximately 10:29 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunshots being fired in the area of 600 Johnson Street. Upon arrival, officers confirmed that multiple rounds had been discharged, but no individuals were struck or injured. During the investigation, it was determined this was an isolated incident between individuals known to each other. Brayden J. Calhoon (04/04/2008) and a 16-year-old juvenile were identified as suspects.
On August 22, 2026, officers contacted the juvenile during an unrelated Theft incident. During the theft investigation, the juvenile was then arrested for the pending charges related to the shooting and transported to the La Crosse County Juvenile Detention Center. On this same day, Mr. Calhoon was also located after he attempted to flee the area of 1300 Liberty Street using a rideshare. Officers arrested him and transported him to the La Crosse County Jail. Both are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
