Water Quality Reports for calendar year 2025 are completed and were mailed to City of La Crosse water consumers on June 26, 2026. These annual reports are required by the U.S. EPA to inform water consumers about how their drinking water compares with federal standards.
The Water Quality Report generally describes the water supply system and provides detailed information on what has been detected in the water. The report includes a Water Supply Data Table that summarizes current results of water quality testing. The Table compares water quality in La Crosse with applicable maximum contaminant levels (MCLs) established by the U.S. EPA.
In 2025, the Water Utility had no violations of maximum contaminant levels or other health‑based water quality standards. The EPA has determined that water in La Crosse is safe at the contaminant levels detected.
The Utility did experience a monitoring violation for one required fluoride sample when the sample was lost in transit to the laboratory. A replacement sample was promptly collected and submitted. This monitoring issue did not impact the safety or quality of the drinking water. Additional information about this event is included in the Water Quality Report.
City residents and water consumers are encouraged to review the information contained in the 2025 Water Quality Report. The Report is also posted on the Water Utility page of the City’s web site at www.cityoflacrosse.org/waterqualityreport.
