Park Board Meetings
The Board of Park Commissioners meets on the third Thursday of each month, January through November, at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.
To request placement on a meeting agenda, please submit a letter of request along with any supporting materials to Kate Kroll at least one week prior to the meeting date.
Special Event & Program Approval
Planning an event, program, or fundraiser in a City of La Crosse park or facility? Park Board approval is required if your event includes any of the following:
- Fundraising activities
- Participant fees
- Alcohol service
To be considered, a letter of request must be submitted to Kate Kroll at least two weeks prior to the desired Park Board meeting.
Your request should include:
- Contact name, phone number, and email
- Organization name and mailing address
- Event name
- Preferred and alternate event dates and times
- Requested park, shelter, facility, and/or trail(s)
- Brief description of the event
Please note that approved events may be required to provide a Certificate of Insurance.
We strongly recommend submitting your request and attending a Park Board meeting at least three months in advance of your event to allow adequate time for review and planning.
Alcohol Permits
If your event is approved to include alcohol sales, a separate alcohol permit must be obtained through the City Clerk’s Office. Eligibility for permits is determined by the Clerk’s Office. Alcohol may not be served without proper approval and permitting.
Annual Community Event Park, Shelter, Trail Request
All events and programs raising money, charging a fee, and/or selling alcohol are required to get approval from the City of La Crosse Board of Park Commissioners to use a facility and/or shelter. All requests will be presented to the Board of Park Commissioners at the November meeting; therefore, your request must be submitted to the Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department by November 1st.
