Operating Budgets

The Budget Parameters Committee meets before July 1st to set schedule for Board of Estimates and to set the time/place for public hearing of the Common Council. This Committee will provide budget parameters that departments need to follow when creating their budgets. Public hearings by the Board of Estimates will commence no later than September 10th. Following a series of work sessions on the budget, the City Council receives citizen input and approves the operating budget on or before the third Tuesday in November.
