Personal Property taxes are due in full by January 31.

Real Estate taxes can be paid in full by January 31 or can be paid in four installments: January 31, March 31, May 31, and July 31. Real Estate Tax bills and amounts can be accessed online at La Crosse County Land Records.

There are many ways to pay or make payments on your real estate taxes.

Payment in Person

Please bring payment to:

The Treasurer's Office accepts cash, check or credit cards (fees will apply).

Office hours are Monday - Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding holidays.

There will be no payments in person – City Hall is closed.  See below for other available payment methods:

Payment by Mail

Please make check payable to "City Treasurer" and mail to:

When mailing a payment please include a remittance with each payment.

Do not send cash by mail, the City Treasurer's Office will not accept cash payments that are mailed.

The timeliness of all mailed taxpayer payments will be determined by postmark for due dates only, as per state statute 74.69.1.  All other payments will be posted as of the day received.

Payment at Drop Box

A drive up drop box (red) is conveniently located in the City Hall parking lot to the right of the steps coming into the building.

Payment by Credit Card

You may pay by credit card in one of 3 ways:

  1. At the Treasurer's Office (fees will apply);
  2. Visit (If requested, use Jurisdiction Code (JCode) 5863); or
  3. Call Official Payments at 1-800-272-9829 and use Jurisdiction Code 5863.

Credit card payment can be made using any method above with an approved card.
