Board of Review 2026

If you disagree with the determination of the City Assessor, the final municipal review of assessments is the Board of Review. The Board of Review is a quasi-judicial body comprised of five appointed City residents who hear the cases and make final determinations on value.  Municipal Boards of Review must meet annually anytime during the 45-day period beginning on the 4th Monday in April.

The City of La Crosse is completing an interim revaluation of property assessments for the 2026 assessment year.  Assessment notices are expected to be sent to property owners in April 2026.

Open Book. Open Book will be held April 29 through May 6, 2026 between the hours 9:00am and 3:00pm, Monday - Thursday and 9:00am and 12:00 noon, Friday. If you wish to discuss your assessment, contact the Assessor's office by calling 608-789-7525 or emailing assessor@cityoflacrosse.org.

Board Of Review - first meeting.  The City of La Crosse first two-hour (minimum) meeting of the Board of Review is scheduled for Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 10:00am in the Common Council Chambers, 1st Floor of City Hall.
