Safe Ride Program
The Safe Ride bus offers a safe and convenient ride between downtown and campus on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. There are bus stops on and off campus, around town and downtown, which are marked with a maroon and silver Safe Ride bus stop sign.
The Safe Ride bus circulates along the route every 15 minutes! More frequently late on Friday and Saturday nights! UWL and Viterbo Students, friends, and the general public ride for free on the Safe Ride bus. No Student ID is required. The service is funded in part by student fees at UWL and Viterbo.
Safe Ride Information
- Only picks up at designated Safe Ride bus stops.
- Does not stop on West Ave. but will stop in other locations along the route where it is safe, upon request, if possible.
- FREE to anyone that wants to ride. No IDs are required. Offers you a safe ride between downtown and the campus and residential areas of UWL, Viterbo, and WTC on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights during fall and spring semesters and New Year’s Eve.
Safe Ride Program Dates
Spring Semester 2026
Safe Ride starts on Saturday, January 24, 2025, and ends on Saturday, May 16, 2026.
No Safe Ride during Spring Break Saturday, March 14–Friday, March 20, 2026.
No Safe Ride the Saturday before Easter. April 5, 2026.
Fall Semester 2026
Safe Ride starts on the Saturday before the Fall Semester classes begin, September 5, 2026, and ends on the Saturday before commencement, Dec 19,2026.
Safe Ride service on New Year's Eve from10:30pm-4:00am.
No Safe Ride service November 26-28, 2026.
