Detours

 

Attention Route 5 and Route 8 riders!

Starting Monday 8/17/26, Gillette Street from Ranger Drive to River Valley Drive will be closed to vehicle traffic.

Route 5 All the stops north of St. Cloud Street on George Street will be closed. Any stops east of George Street on Gillette will be closed for the Route 5 and Route 8.

Route 8 All the stops from Clinton and Caledonia to River Valley Drive, in both directions, will be closed. Temporary stops will be placed at Liberty and Clinton and at Kane and Clinton Streets.

 

Attention Route 5 Passengers

At the beginning of service on Wednesday, August 05, through Friday, August 14 the intersection of Hwy 16 and Gillette St will be closed for road construction. Route 5 will go through the industrial park to get to the mall and back.

The bus stops on Hwy 16 will be closed and the bus stop at Office Depot will be demand response during this time. If you have any questions, please ask your driver or call MTU at 608-789-7350.

 

Attention Circulator riders and Route 5 riders!

Starting Monday 7 27, 2026 6^th and Main Streets will be closed to bus traffic.

For all three routes we be using 7^th Street during this detour.

We will have temporary stops located at 7^th and Main Street for all three buses.

Route 5 riders, you can also catch the 5, heading downtown, on 7^th Street south of King Street during this detour.

 

Attention Route 6 Riders!

 

Starting Monday July 13, 2026, Liberty Street will be closed from Sabor Manor, (Windsor Street) to Clinton Street for road construction.

Please use bus stops at St. Paul Street and Caledonia Street, Caledonia Street and Wall Street.

Or the temporary bus stops at Windsor Street and Avon Street during this time

Notice to all Route #4 Passengers

At the beginning of service on Friday June 05 for the next several weeks

MTU buses will not be going through U.W. La Crosse campus due to construction on campus.

The following bus stops will be closed:

• La Crosse Street by Coate Hall
• La Crosse Street and 16^th Street North
• East Avenue by the Alumni Center
• East Avenue by Sanford Hall
• 2 stops at East Avenue and Pine Street
• 2 stops at Pine Street and Campbell Road
• Campbell Road and State Street
• State Street near Roncalli Newman Center
• State and 17^th Street N.
• 2 Stops on 17the Street North between State Street and Main Street

You will be able to catch the bus at the stops on 13th Street, and on the stops on Main Street.

                                                                                                                                

Attention Route 2 Downtown riders

33rd Street between Meadow Lane Place and Park Lane Drive will be closed to bus traffic starting 5/21/26

Please use the bus stops at 33rd Street and either Meadow Lane Place, or 33rd and Park Lane drive during this time.
