Senior Excursion Policies

IMPORTANT: Please read through these policies carefully. Anyone who registers for an excursion is responsible for knowing these policies. Any participant providing false information will be removed from the excursion with no refund. 

REGISTRATION 

  • Participants must provide the following to register: name, address, phone, e-mail, birthday, and emergency contact information.  
  •  Participants must be registered in a household that has the address where they pay taxes.
  • All participants are required to sign the City’s Waiver of Liability (as is) the day of the trip. Failure to do so will result in missing the trip and no refund. 

CANCELLATIONS 

  • The Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department must be notified of all cancellations to the excursion.  
  •  You may not resell, exchange, or give your ticket away. 
  • Anyone not on the roster will not be allowed on the excursion and the fee will not be refunded.
  • If there is no waitlist, your name will be added to a cancellation list.
  • If there is no one on the waitlist and you find a replacement for your ticket, you must contact the Southside Neighborhood Center to have the ticket exchanged.
  • All transfers must be within seven days prior to the excursion.
  • There will be a $15 fee for all cancellations to cover administrative fees. 

REFUNDS 

  • No refunds will be provided within seven days prior to the excursion. 
  •  Refunds are not issued unless your ticket can be resold by the department. 
  • If there is a meal that has been ordered for you that is not included in the cost of the program, the participant will be responsible for the cost if the City is unable to cancel the meal.
  • In case of inclement weather, refunds will not be issued unless the City is able to recover funds from the tour venue. 

WAITLIST 

  • If there is a cancellation, the first person on the waitlist will be contacted and will have 24 hours to respond before the next person is notified and they are removed from the waitlist. 
  •  Please do not call to inquire where you are on the waitlist, you will be notified as soon as a place is available for you.
  • If you are on the waitlist and no longer wish to attend, call the South Side Neighborhood Center at (608) 789-8298 to cancel your spot. 

 PARTICIPANT EXPECTATIONS 

  • Trip participants must be self-sufficient or have with them a companion to assist with specific needs. This includes, but is not limited to, walking, sitting, standing, eating, and using the restroom. Please note the companion must register and pay for the trip. Participants with special needs must make those needs known at the time of registration.  
  •  Participants that use a wheelchair must make the office aware of their participation. Unfortunately, not all destinations will be fully accessible.
  • Participants must remain with the group unless the schedule includes designated free time. 

RULES AND REGULATIONS 

  • Bus seating: No reserved seating on trips. Participants may select seats on a first-come, first-served basis. 
  •  Buses will leave promptly at the time designated. 
  • Participants must ride the bus to receive any tickets or entrance to any events.
  • Return to the bus at the required time so the group does not have to wait.
  • Multiple late returns may result in restrictions to programs you are able to register for.
  • Return times are always approximate. Every effort will be made to return to La Crosse at the designated time. 

 

The City of La Crosse reserves the right to limit future participation on trips if policies and procedures are violated.
